HELP! :( asked:

Hey everyone,

I’m mobile DJ, and am thinking of changing my show around bit. I’m going to start playing all my music from pc, but also start playing music videos. I’ve bought Virtual DJ (Numark CUE), and I’m now just trying to sort better pc out for it.

I’ve found one on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=320221019446&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=011)

and graphics card (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=160210293062&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=006)

Does anybody have any better suggestions, or should that do the job? It needs to run quickly and smoothly, as I can’t have the show all of sudden stopping. I can’t spend more than about £250 on the pc, and maybe £50 - £100 max on graphics.

Thanks

I use this and its a fantastic product.
Music is not too bad but for videos, you need a high spec machine and then extend the RAM. You don’t need a high end graphics card. The graphics cards are for gamers who need fast polygon processing and rendering in a 3d virtual world.
If you are just playing music videos or karaoke lyrics etc then the on-board video card should be sufficient.

    Hello
I have a copy of CUE and I used VJ. I would have to disagree with what he said about the graphics card. Most DJ software - Especially PCVJ, Numark Cue, AKA - Virtual DJ are very demanding on the video processor especially if you want to rum it to multiple monitors. I would recommend at least 256 DEDICATED on the video card. PCDJ recommends 512 Dedicated for best performance. Yes it will work with lower, especially Cue is a little better on resources but if you want fluent video without lock ups buy the best video card you can afford with dedicated ram!
